The Big Chef Show Set for April 24
You’re Invited to a Culinary Extravaganza!

League City – “The Big Chef Show” opens April 24, 2015, 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Clear Springs High School in League City, 501 Palomino Lane. Take a road trip across America with CCISD Culinary Arts students. They’ll be creating a feast that features delectable bites from different regions of the United States including the West, Southwest, Northeast, Southeast, Middle States, and Mountain States.

The aspiring chefs will showcase their talents through a variety of demonstrations and fabulous culinary delights for all to taste and enjoy at the various action stations. Selections range from Fried Green Tomato Napoleon, Chicken Fried Colorado Lamb with Potato Ravioli topped with a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce to Mini Lobster Rolls and Ohio Peanut butter and Chocolate buckeyes.

The event also features guest chefs who will work with the student chefs to present a night of food and fun. There will be seven stations featuring the following Houston Bay Area Chefs:

Chef David Skinner – Eculent Restaurant – Kemah

Chef Ann Curry – Green Event Center Friendswood

Chef Brittany Todd – Rise Cupcakes, Friendswood

Chef Tate Roussel – Chef of the House, Houston

Chef Robert Maccarone – CCISD Child Nutrition, League City

Chef Pennye Moses - Myleigh’s Morsels Catering - Houston

Entertainment will be provided by the Clear Falls High School Jazz Ensemble. Guests will have a chance to sample the tasty work of the Culinary Arts program and place a bid on the Chef’s Table “Chef's Choice” tasting menu.

This unique experience will take place at the Chef’s table for 10 with a front row view of the kitchen. The winning bidder and guests will be able to watch the Chef and Culinary students prepare an enticing menu and enjoy a gourmet tasting menu where the dishes are inspired by global flavors. Tickets for The Big Chef Show are $40. Tables of eight can be reserved for $320. Tickets can be purchased at all CCISD high schools or the reception desk at the Education Support Center. They will not be sold at the door.  Tickets are required regardless of age.

Students who graduate from the three year Culinary Arts program have the opportunity to earn certifications that will qualify them to be accepted into college level culinary courses and to work professionally as a prep chef.
