The Clear Creek Independent School District is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students and staff. While we do not anticipate a need to activate an emergency response, we must be prepared and well trained for any event.
As part of our emergency management plan, the school district has taken additional measures to train and support our campus staff and students. In addition to the customary and mandatory monthly fire drills, the school district is also requiring every campus to conduct a minimum of two lockdown drills and host training for protect mode and shelter in place.
Please be assured that teachers and staff will spend time discussing the importance of this procedure with students in an age-appropriate manner. Staff will also take time after the drill to remind students this was only a practice and they were not in danger.
As parents, you can help as well. Please take the time to speak with your son/daughter about the importance of training and practice whether it is a fire drill or a lockdown drill. We practice these situations to ensure our school remains a safe place for all children.
In the event of a real emergency, the school district may activate what is known as Reunification. Please take the time to read the attached document to explain your role in an emergency. Parent Community Safety Flyer.pdf
