Considering your skills and talents, what positive contribution would you make as a member of the Board of Trustees?
I will continue to serve the Clear Creek ISD community in a thoughtful and present manner. I have come to the position with over 25 years of public relations and human resource experience that has made for a great complement to trustee service. All of this together with a strong sense of advocacy makes for a well-rounded servant leader.

What roles do trustees play in affecting student success?
I have learned through a nationally recognized set of board standards, that a collective group of trustees (the board) plays a significant role in student achievement. If the board/trustee sets laser-focused standards for itself those trickle down to the administration, staff and students. A trustee must provide responsible School governance, set high expectations, create conditions for success, measure District accountability and invite community engagement.

What critical challenges face the district, and what are possible solutions to address those issues?
The currently proposed A-F accountability system is convoluted and will be a disservice to students and our community; we need a locally based system. The school finance system is archaic and unfair; Texas students deserve equitable funding that accounts for changes and mandates.
