Benefit ConcertTalents from across the musical and artistic spectrums will be on display during the 2nd Annual Clear Lake High School Benefit Concert at the Clear Lake High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

About 15 CLHS acts ranging from orchestra and theatre to dance and Asian Culture Club will perform in order to raise funds for the CCISD Challengers, a program helping students with special needs gain access to athletic programs through the Special Olympics. There will also be a few student-made art pieces available for viewing before and after the concert.

“It started when some of us got together and noticed the many people who still needed help recovering from Hurricane Harvey,” Promotional Director Richard Xu said.

Last year, students planned, organized and held the first concert and all proceeds raised were donated to CCISD Cares, a non-profit which was established in 2017 to help CCISD families in need after the hurricane.

“This year, we've built off of the lessons we learned from last year, and we hope to keep this an annual legacy at Clear Lake,” Xu said. The concert is a student-led operation under the guidance of Advisor Lindy Goodwin and according to Xu, they have already raised $7,000 in scholarships.

Tickets for this year’s concert are available for purchase on the Clear Lake High School Benefit Concert website. For a taste of what’s in store, check out this video!
