“I am most excited about working with the staff and students to create a space for learning and healing,” Diaz said.

Before coming to Clear Path, she taught American history in Galveston ISD and then moved on to be an assistant principal at Clear Springs High School.

“What I love about education is the opportunity to help a child learn how to make a difference in themselves,” Diaz said. “It’s almost overwhelmingly powerful.”

Diaz attended high school in Galveston at Ball High and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and her master’s degree from University of Houston-Clear Lake.

She stated that as an educator, her role is to help students realize their greatest potential.

“We invest heavily in education to provide our students the opportunities of a successful life,” Diaz said. “However, for many of our students, we first need them to realize they are worth their own best efforts. It’s critical my students learn that we can all make a brand-new ending if we start now, no matter where we are.”
